I started my career at Sunsetters in 1996.
Coming into the salon I knew four of the women working there at the time, and it immediately felt like home! The environment was always helpful and encouraging, and when I took ownership of the business, it was important that the atmosphere didn’t change.
Hair has been my passion for the last two decades and I can’t imagine what I’d be doing if I wasn’t working in this industry. Perhaps, something involving music? Music has the power to transform a bad day. You can be dragging through the day and suddenly a song’s lyrics and beat can have you tapping your toes and grinning ear to ear. A song can remind you how beautiful and precious life is.
The same goes for the beauty industry. A client can come into the salon feeling sad, frustrated or discouraged, and leave feeling happy and confident after getting a fresh cut or a new style.
To me, the best gift I can give a client is beauty and confidence. Nothing beats the satisfaction we feel when a client breaks into a big smile while looking in the mirror at their new style and then walks out the door with their head held high.
